Saline County Announces New Rave Emergency Notification System to Keep County Residents Informed During Emergency Situations

 

Public Safety Officials Encourage Residents to Sign Up for the Free Service

Provided by the County to Be Better Prepared for an Emergency

 

Saline County, MO, December 7, 2018– County officials in Saline County are excited to announce that a new Emergency Notification System is now available to all county residents.  Rave Alert is a free service for county residents that allows individuals to sign up for notifications of emergency situations or other important information sent from local authorities. Rave Alert is designed to keep Saline County residents and travelers informed on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, traffic, or other emergencies.

 

Rave Alert enables authorities to notify county residents in real time,” said Tony Day, Emergency Management Director.  “This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergency situations.”

 

Residents and travelers to Saline County can sign up for this free service at the Saline County Emergency Management Website at https://www.salinecountyema.com/  and clicking on the “Rave” tab, or by going to the Saline County, Missouri website at http://www.salinecountymo.org/  and clicking on the Emergency Management tab.  By signing up, residents will receive timely and actionable emergency alerts via email, text or voice message. They can also identify when and how they are alerted and communicated with before, during, and after emergencies.

 

 “By signing up for Rave Alert Community members will receive notifications that will improve safety in our county and help inform residents of potentially lifesaving actions they may need to take in an emergency,” said Tony Day, Saline County Emergency Management Director.   “The information sent out by Rave Alert through emergency notifications allows both residents and first responders to be better informed in an emergency situation.”

 

“When authorities have information about a situation, such as storm or emergency, they can be more effective in providing information to the public and providing appropriate assistance,” said Kile Guthrey, Saline County Presiding Commissioner. We encourage all residents of our county and their families to sign up for Rave Alert”.
