Requirements for Obtaining Business Licenses
Request these forms in person, by mail or fax.  
Please click on the license form you need:

Business License (Download Form)  

Business License for Master Plumber and Journeyman (Download Form)  

Business License for Contractors & Subcontractors (Download Form)  

Business License for Electricians Class I & Electrician Class II (Download Form) 

Certificate of Occupancy (Download Form)  
This form refers to the structure where the business is to be located (home, office or store front and in some cases a mobile unit)

Fictitious Name Registration, Articles of Incorporation, Limited Liability Company or Limited Liability Partnership
You must obtain one of these if the name of the business does not include the first and last name of the owner. Please contact the Missouri Secretary of State

Missouri Retail Sales License
You must have this license if you are selling any tangible items. Obtain this license through the Missouri Department of Revenue at (573)751-4450 or by internet at

If you have a Missouri Retail Sales License, you will need to provide us your No Tax Due Information.

Worker’s Compensation
Construction Contractors with 1 or more employees must provide certificates of coverage.

License Fee

Health Inspection 
Some business classifications will require a Health Inspection. Please contact the Business Licensing Department for details.

Annual Business License Renewals

All Business Licenses must be renewed by March 1st of each year. Licenses not renewed will be considered delinquent April 1st and a penalty of $10 per month will be assessed.
